Ankle Sprain

i've been away from the computer for a couple days... i rolled my ankle during basketball the other nite. Particularly disappointing was the fact that i rolled said ankle near the beginning of the evening... so i watched others have a really good time for a bit. Not as fun as it sounds.

Anyways, i've been elevating the foot and not going down the stairs to get to my computer, until now.

Someone told me that i might have the same ankle sprain as Sidney Crosby. Thanks but, i'd rather not.

12 Over 5

i just watched Western Kentucky beat Drake with zero on the clock at the end of overtime; Drake was up by one, then they lost by two. That was a clutch 3 pointer.

God bless streaming video inventor guy... thank you.

Where your Money Is

Money buys happiness -- if you spend on someone else

"Regardless of how much income each person made, those who spent money on others reported greater happiness, while those who spent more on themselves did not," - Reuters

There is something to that, but you already knew that!

Duke Belmont

Great game... did you see those 3's that Belmont was shooting?
I was one of the 90% rooting for the Belmont Bruins to be this years Cinderella team. It would have been nice to see Duke knocked out the first nite.
Ahh... Madness.

"WASHINGTON (AP) — There it was, plain as could be on the overhead scoreboard, orange numbering on a black background: As the closing seconds ticked away Thursday night, Belmont was beating Duke.

Read that again, slowly: No. 15-seeded Belmont was beating No. 2 Duke. Belmont, the Atlantic Sun Conference school with zero NCAA tournament wins to its credit, was leading Duke, the Atlantic Coast Conference school with three national championships on its resume."

The Dance is On

March Madness… games began half an hour ago… and I still have work to do. At least in Canada we get tomorrow off, no one needs to pretend to be sick. I wonder if productivity here in Canada is hit half as hard as it is in the States. I picture office buildings standing silent, or cubicle farms with the game streamed live through the interweb.

I wonder if Al Gore had any idea how invasive the interweb could be, you know, back before he invented global warming, he invented the interweb.

I love that. Heh.

Toastmasters Club

Today is an exciting day for our toastmasters club.

Attendance has dwindled as of late, and there has been a lack of truly excited commitment. Seeing the writing on the wall, and not wanting our long standing club to fold we’ve talked, we’ve emailed and group replied ad nauseum. We’ve taken pulse and we have made a decision.

Our noon club will now conduct the meeting from 12:10 to 12:50 instead of 12 to 1. This cuts the program slightly, and forces everyone to appreciate brevity. No small challenge when one is public speaking.

As always, we are guest friendly so, if you are free today, we will be at ABC restaurant for our lunch meeting.

Kenyan Rivals Share Power?

“Mr. Kibaki has agreed to create a prime minister post, as demanded by the opposition, but it was unclear what powers a premier would have and how many cabinet jobs Mr. Odinga's side would get.” - Globe & Mail

Google Down

“Google shares were down 7.1 per cent to $451.90 by lunchtime in New York, following a 4 per cent fall on Monday. The stock is down 20 per cent in the past month and is nearly 40 per cent off its all-time high of $747 last November.” - Financial Times in depth. It’s just about time to buy my google stock… I’ve been waiting since their IPO, still waiting.

/I will fix the above link tonight when I get back in front of my home computer – this post is an email post again, and I think I will need to spend a little time learning how to properly email a link to the blog. Until then, let me apologize for the broken-ness of the recent posts.

Spending in Canada

“Canadians are spending a greater chunk of their incomes on housing, air travel and cell phones while the proportion devoted to personal taxes has hit a 14-year low, a government report showed Tuesday.” – reportonbusiness.com – Globe & Mail

From this same article; a record 31 per cent of households (in Alberta) bought new computer hardware. I am, unfortunately, one of the remaining 69 per cent who continue using old technology. Much to the chagrin of those folks I *used* to play COD2 with. It’s been a while. Meh.

Etrade Baby

I don't use Etrade, i prefer my good friend Kyle. This ad is not going to inspire me to begin using Etrade, but this ad did inspire me to blog it. That must be saying something? What, i don't know.
