AIA Baseball & Canada Cup

Today has been fantastic. Let me explain. Renee and i are billeting an AIA Baseball guy (Lorne) while he interacts and participates with the Baseball Canada Cup here in Medicine Hat.

Alberta has played two games today, and i got to see the last inning (7th) of both of them. wow! i haven't watched one (let alone two and even more) baseball games in one day since junior high - this has been fun. Alberta defeated Manitoba this afternoon by one run. The tying run, and the possible winning run for Manitoba were left stranded on base at the bottom of the seventh. That was a nail-biter. Then tonight, Alberta faced off against Quebec (a perenial power i am told)... the score is 2-2 after 6 innings, remember, these games are 7 innings long, not 9. Top of the seventh, after an intentional walk, Alberta has two runners on base, and two out. The batter (Coaches son i hear) looped one over the short-stop. Quebec is stunned. Both runners score, and after a swift close out of the Quebec batters, the game is a wrap. Alberta 4 - Quebec 2.
