Shatavadhani Tasking
Reading another book, i found a word that relates to one of my prior posts. In April of 2006 i used the term google-tasking to relate to our amped up lifestyle of multi-tasking. Seems, while the term is (still) mine, the concept is not.
Shatavadhani : One having the faculty of remembering or attending to a hundred things simultaneously.
i looked (and googled) the word, attempting to find a second source for the term... i did not find one. Since the first source is Gandhi himself, i'll boldly post the term. Taken from page 88 of Gandhi - My experiments with truth, published in 1957.
/that word just sounds good, doesn't it? i don't know, i do prefer google-tasking to Shatavadhani-tasking... both will work tho. Be sure to give credit where credit is due!

There are very few shatavadhanis left. It is a sanskrit word. Avadhana means pure concentration/focus.
There is ashatavadhani (ashta is 8)
Shata is 100
Sahasra is 1000
One Shatavadhani can be found here (mostly literary avadhana) http://www.culturalindia.org/rganesh.asp
There are other kinds of avadhanas as well.
