Update Elijah 1.01

i am home tonight... just got in. Renee and Elijah are still at Foothills in Calgary. Here are a couple pics from Elijah's first day. The line to his nose was oxygen, he's off that now, breathing on his own in the first 24 hours. There is a line in his mouth too, that is an NG tube, for food in, and gas out. He started eating yesterday, and we used his mouth, that's a little more as per the human design (although it is nice to have a direct line into his tummy as back-up). The cool shades are because he's been under a billy-rubin (sp?) light to fortify his skin coloration etc... and the light is real bright. There are also a couple monitor lines to his chest, those are just taped on... no puncture there, thankfully.
In the second picture, he's sitting in Renee's arms. Notice the tape on his lip, he's not trying to be a groucho marx wannabe, nor is he trying to be funny. He's just rather pig-headed at the moment. He's taken the 16 centimeter NG tube out of his tummy lots. Over ten times on day one alone, so they started taping it to his upper lip... that has limited him to tearing it out of his mouth (and completely out of his tummy, all 16cm's of it) two or three times a day. heh.. that's my boy!

Congrats Jace & Renee! He is great-lookin' little guy - those are WICKED shades - can you see about scoring an adult-sized pair?

The tug-o-war team sign-up is second on his list, right after forming complex muliti sylable words, which we should have him tackling later this afternoon!
Thanks for all the comments folks, Renee and i LOVED reading from you all while we were in Calgary, and Renee is still up in Calgary reading so, keep it up!
Cam, i'll ask about adult size billy-rubin shades... you'll need to glue some velcro tabs to your temple or forhead tho. That makes em even shnazzier, imho.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
