Update Elijah 1.01

i am home tonight... just got in. Renee and Elijah are still at Foothills in Calgary. Here are a couple pics from Elijah's first day. The line to his nose was oxygen, he's off that now, breathing on his own in the first 24 hours. There is a line in his mouth too, that is an NG tube, for food in, and gas out. He started eating yesterday, and we used his mouth, that's a little more as per the human design (although it is nice to have a direct line into his tummy as back-up). The cool shades are because he's been under a billy-rubin (sp?) light to fortify his skin coloration etc... and the light is real bright. There are also a couple monitor lines to his chest, those are just taped on... no puncture there, thankfully.
In the second picture, he's sitting in Renee's arms. Notice the tape on his lip, he's not trying to be a groucho marx wannabe, nor is he trying to be funny. He's just rather pig-headed at the moment. He's taken the 16 centimeter NG tube out of his tummy lots. Over ten times on day one alone, so they started taping it to his upper lip... that has limited him to tearing it out of his mouth (and completely out of his tummy, all 16cm's of it) two or three times a day. heh.. that's my boy!

Elijah Reuben

At approximately 1 am this morning, the 27th of July.
Elijah Reuben Anderson was delivered at Foothills Hospital, Calgary Alberta.

The little man looks great, he's pink, he's complete and he's breathing on his own!
All this is an exciting blessing of epic proportions. Firstly, because he's our first child, our first son! Secondly, his good health is counted a blessing because he's a tad preemie... weighing in at 3 pounds and 7.5 ounces... and several weeks early. We'd anticipated a September birth.

Praise God!
talk soon...

Sundial Billboard

Yeah... Leo Burnett is a tad crazy... but, Mmm i'm lovin' it. Heh.

"the billboard features a real sundial whose shadow falls on a different breakfast item each hour until noon, when the shadow of the McDonald’s arches are dead center." - ChicagoBusiness / Thanks R.M. for the link!

/ on a slightly related topic... you MUST visit leoburnett.com and check out the interactivity of their website... get lost in it. enjoy!

How to embed Video

"Supercrazykid said... How do you get the video embedded man?!"

It's terribly simple really...
in the right hand column, on the video player page:
YouTube has the word *embed*, to the right is a field of text. Copy and paste... tada.
Google video uses the word *share* and you need to click it, then you can click the *embed* button. copy and paste the field of text that you see post clickage... voila.

Give it a go... and enjoy! Like this...

/Heh... old skool mario goodness made relevant again. Pop culture, it either rocks, or is really bad for your complexion, or something.

Drain the Swamp

The objective of all dedicated marketers ( or, insert your career here) should be to analyse thoroughly all situations, anticipate all problems prior to their occurance, have answers for these problems and move quickly to solve them.
HOWEVER...
When you're up to your arse in alligators it's difficult to remind yourself that your initial objective was to drain the swamp.

Amanda taking offers

Pretty great offer for Amanda of Rocketboom fame... i mentioned yesterday that she had a falling out of sorts with her partner & producer (and 51% owner of rocketboom.com) so... How about this from Jason:

You're on the top of the talent pool on the Web and you should get compensated for what you've done. You don't have a huge window of opportunity--you need to act now and you should get paid *now*...

It's all about leverage. Wow.

/where was my vlog tutorial again... it's in here somewhere.
:)

*** UPDATE *** Moments after originally posting this blog entry***
Starting to look like a trashy tv soap. Here's a round-up. i am no longer interested... moving right along.

Football & Ninjas

NIKE manages to combine together two great things: Football & Ninjas. Enjoy...

/ i love what advertising manages to do... sometimes.

JHA GSD

This blog is to mark, on my digital calendar, the day i Jace Hurst Anderson (jha) begin to modify a great personal scheduling style titled (by it's creator) Getting Sh*t Done (GSD)... Before you close my blog in disgust, let me explain :)

i am simplifying my work style. i have put away the pocket pc... i am not coveting a laptop... i'm going back to pen and paper. old-skool.

The GSD system of organization is a personal life-hack that i have altered ever so slightly. i make it my own... it works for how my mind opperates, or something.

i bought this NotePro book made by Blueline today from Staples... this book should do the trick. Great size, binding folds flat! Paper is not the best quality... but until i find the perfect journal, this will do.

Amanda un-boomed

Shocked. And speechless... and kind of sad too. wow.

Amanda is *un-boomed*.

what now rocket?

/ i've just removed the rocketboom link from my list of links i visit most every day. Meh!

Montford #53

The real #53 is back in Edmonton according to news reports today. Joe Montford, whom i spent 3 weeks in Africa with this spring, was dropped before the CFL season began, but has now been brought back. About time!

"I'm always in shape," said Montford, 35, a personal trainer in Atlanta. "I could do this in my sleep."

AHH-Zuria!!!

What a game. WHAT A GAME... possibly the most intense World Cup match i've seen. Ever.

The Azure (Italia) are thru (to the next round - the final) and the Germans are thru (for the summer).

the 8 foot screen at the Lava Lounge was a good chance to view the game... Having R.H. buy lunch was great. Tomorrows' game: i'm buying!
